Richard "Dick" Grayson Fanfiction

I added an RSS Feed at the bottom of the page that features Dick Grayson Fanfiction. It's kind of a guilty pleasure, and you get to see topics that will never [and should never] be explored in the actual comics. It is a RSS feed and should change constantly I've set it to list the last 5 stories that have been updated. Enjoy.

Getting on the Green Galactic Bus... DC has sucked me in with it's Blackest Night campaign. So in preparation for reading that story I have decided to read some Green Lantern because I really don't know much about the Green Lanterns. So I started with Green Lantern: No Fear, the graphic novel that collects the first 6 issues of the currently running Green Lantern Series [I believe it's Volume 4.] and I was honestly blown away with how coherent this story is. Too many times I've tried to pick up a title and not been able to follow because it was so bogged down in back story you needed 200+ issue run to have any hope of understanding what's going on. Not so here new reader pick up with confidence, this story makes sense from beginning to end and flows clearly into Green Lantern Vol. 2: Revenge of the Green Lanterns that collects issues #7-13.

I'm liking Tony Daniel's work on Batman more and more. Great mix of story elements in this issue and interaction with quite a few members of the supporting cast. Nothing is in depth but it's enough to satisfy; it's those little nuggets of interpersonal interaction that keep me coming back for more. Wonder when we are going to find out more about the teenage girl? I think they might be calling her Kittyhawk? And what about the look that Babs had on her face? Wow. Ice cold. Huntress, I think you've made some one's poo list. I hate to get my hopes up but I would love to see a love triangle play out between Dick, Babs, and Huntress. Carwreck! I haven't been this excited to read comics in years, but this last year or two DC has really gotten my attention with it's Batman Storylines. I've just gotta know what happens next.

But is Azrael willing to risk Robin's life in order to see this secret revealed? "The Eighth Deadly Sin" sets the stage for this month's premiere issue of the AZRAEL ongoing

=====
Despite the fact that this is a set up for the new Azrael monthly series; it turned out to be a pretty good self contained Batman story. There is some nice interaction between Dick and Damian; that really shows what the dynamic between the two of them is like. I have to laugh when Damian refers to them as Robin and Batman; and Dick's mater of fact way of letting Damian know what's what. I like the way they bring out how patient Dick is with the little brat. He corrects him about important things like when he thinks a meer murder is beneath their time and effort to investigate but lets things like the Robin and Batman slide by without comment.

I'm not sure what my opinion is of this new Azrael character... I was violently apposed to the original one when he became Batman all those years ago... Don't know if that stain is still hanging over the character name... Might check it out, might not.

I have to say I like Montoya as the Question and wouldn't mind seeing some good stories with her in them. Interesting to see that she figured out that the new Batman was Nightwing... probably from the way he spoke to her. Maybe it's not much of a stretch for others in the DCU because of the long association between the Batman and Nightwing tho.

There is also a back story running in each annual that features Barbra Gordon and Looker. [She's the Vampire that was in Outsiders, if you don't remember.] They are following the trail of a vampire killer that is stalking Barbra... it has a moderately open ending. I wonder if it will be picked up elsewhere?

I don't believe it...

I don't believe it! Blogger is working for me again... I had a major system crash after getting a Trojan on my PC so I had to do a system restore... and now after almost a year blogger is working for me again! The reason I didn't post here isn't because I wasn't online or interested in comics anymore but that I couldn't log on to this site properly anymore... I had been trying out other blogging sites trying to find one that I could use but just didn't like any of them as well and then holy crap! I wish I'd done a system restore sooner! It fixed a ton of problems I was having! Now I can start dishing on comics here again. I'm also using some other social networking sites I will do something to link them all together!

Batman #683 - 686

Well, I'm a bit behind on my comic reading... which is pretty common for me anyway. I like to let my comics sit until I have a few and then read them back to back. Hmmm... what to say about these issues. Not bad, but maybe not as interesting as the RIP storyline. I was pretty happy that #684 was a Nightwing story. Issue #686 was a little weird... maybe it will make more sense after I read the other part and Final Crisis.
